“Connect” - An ‘Out of the box’ Box

This book is based on an interview with artist, entrepreneur, and a close friend of mine: June Lee Palmer. 

June is often described by friends as quirky and “out-of-the-box”. I wanted to create a book form that represented June’s eccentricity, so the book is composed of 3-sets of cards, each set representing a significant era in June’s life. Physically, every ‘page’ has multiple slits on all four edges which allows the cards to then be connected to one another. She describes that collectively all of these events in her life have shaped her into the woman she is today, so I created a book form that transforms into a single spherical structure once connected. The cards were designed to be easily disassembled and contained in a simple box, so she may carry her memories with her.
