SEVERED, is an exhibition inspired by a ritual practiced in the Yakuza known as “Yubitsume”, also known as the act of severing one’s own finger as a form of punishment or honor.

SEVERED

SEVERED, is an exhibition inspired by a ritual practiced in the Yakuza (one of the most prominent criminal organizations in Japan) known as “Yubitsume”, also known as the act of severing one’s own finger as a form of punishment or honor. SEVERED explores the cultural importance of the various rituals practiced in the organization and how they are cut off from society [in Japan].

This project contains a multi-fold informational poster invitation, perforated RSVP postcard, trifold interactive save-the-date, and badges for the event.
